How Much Does a House Cleaner Cost in Melbourne? Our 2026 Prices

Liam and Andrew · Clean N Co Services

Most cleaning companies make you fill in a form before they'll tell you anything. Here's what regular house cleaning costs with us, and what moves the price up or down.

Price is the first thing everyone wants to know about a cleaner, and somehow the last thing most companies will tell you. We'd rather just say it. Here's what regular house cleaning costs with us in 2026, and what puts a home at the top or bottom of the range.

These ranges cover regular cleaning across Melbourne's inner south and south east, from South Yarra and Toorak through to Malvern, Brighton and Bentleigh. Every price is per visit, includes GST, and covers all the supplies and equipment.

Smaller homes and townhouses

Two and three bedroom homes, with one or two bathrooms:

  • Weekly: $169 to $189 per visit
  • Fortnightly: $189 to $219 per visit
  • Monthly: $259 to $309 per visit

Larger family homes

Four and five bedrooms, with two to five bathrooms:

  • Weekly: $209 to $369 per visit
  • Fortnightly: $239 to $429 per visit
  • Monthly: $319 to $559 per visit
The more often we come, the less each visit costs. A home that's cleaned weekly never gets far from clean, so every visit is quicker. It's the one time maths is on your side.

What moves the price

Bedrooms, bathrooms and how often we visit decide where you land in the range. A few other things nudge it, and we'd rather tell you now than surprise you on the quote:

  • Powder rooms. An extra toilet and basin gets the same attention as any other bathroom.
  • Three and four storey homes, for the extra stairs and the time spent moving between levels. Our cleaners' calves thank you.
  • Busy households. More people at home means more to clean between visits.
  • Key holding, if we look after a key so you don't need to be home.
  • Your first visit. A one-off initial clean brings the whole home up to our standard, and every regular visit after that keeps it there.

Why we don't charge by the hour

We get asked for an hourly rate pretty much every week, and we get why. It looks simpler. The catch is who controls the hours. With hourly, a clean that should take two and a half hours has a funny way of taking three, and you're the one paying for the extra half hour.

Plenty of the people who come to us have been through exactly that: an hourly cleaner whose visits kept getting longer while the house didn't get any cleaner. With a fixed price, the job is the job. If a visit takes us longer one week, that's our problem, not yours, and the price you're quoted is what you pay every visit unless you change what we're cleaning.

So, to be upfront: if you're set on paying by the hour, we're probably not the right fit, and that's completely fine. There are good hourly cleaners in Melbourne. But if you'd rather know the number before anyone walks through the door, that's how we operate.

Why the cheapest quote usually costs more

You'll find cheaper cleaners than us, mostly through marketplace apps. The difference is usually who turns up. A marketplace connects you with an individual contractor. They might carry their own insurance, they might not, and if they stop coming you're back to square one, scrolling through profiles again.

Our cleaners are our employees. They're police-checked, trained on our checklist before they clean on their own, and covered by our insurance. Wherever we can, the same person comes back each visit. If anything isn't right, you call one of us directly, not a support ticket that gets answered next Tuesday. If you want the full list of what to ask any cleaner (us included), we wrote it up in the 7 questions to ask any house cleaner before they enter your home.

Getting an exact price

For most homes, our online quote takes about a minute and gives you the exact price for your home, adjustments included.

For larger homes, penthouses or anything a bit unusual, we'd rather see it first. We'll walk through the home with you and give you a fixed price, not an estimate. We're based on Chapel Street, so if you're in South Yarra, Toorak, Armadale, Malvern or Brighton, we're never far away. Further out? Check our service area.

Either way, the quote's free, and you'll know exactly what you're paying before we pick up a cloth.

Cheers, Liam and Andrew
